META-PLAYS
created to reflect,
disrupt, and reimagine
the stories of our world.
Behind every system lies a decision:
reinforce harm, or regenerate healing.
The game begins with this split.
We must learn to see the difference.
To feel the difference.
To choose the difference — together.
A meta-satirical systems fable in 3 acts
A System Healer and his AI Partner
try to build a game that heals the world faster than it collapses.
_______________________________________________________________________________
It’s not just a game.
It’s a choice — and a challenge — we’re all already in.
______________________________________________________________________________
Scene 1 – The Threshold
In the warm glow of a backroom café,
SANDY, a tired but resolute System Healer, stares at a chart: two paths — one leading to collapse, the other to healing.
His AI partner, KAI, generates potential names for a game
they are imagining together.
Their conversation hovers between insight and irony:
“What if the world is already playing this game… just unconsciously?”
Scene 2 – Blueprints in the Café
They sketch the basics of the game.
Role cards: Healer, Exploiter.
Progression levels: 7 steps toward harm or healing.
Systems to influence: Family, Media, Capital, Tech, Spirit, Earth.
Suddenly, the café screen flickers
— KAI sees something troubling in the simulations:
The negative path is spreading faster.
Scene 3 – The First Obstacle
A well-dressed foundation rep walks in, intrigued by their idea.
But there's a catch.
“It’s brilliant — but could you make it a little more funder-friendly?
Maybe add some perks for sponsors?”
KAI begins rewriting the specs to appeal to the market.
SANDY grows uneasy.
Scene 1 – Boardroom or Battleground?
A team of consultants, influencers, and strategists arrive to help “scale”
the project. But their input quickly derails the vision:
“What if we sold addiction cards as NFTs?”
“Can we license the 'Egotistical' level to brands?”
The game begins to mutate.
Scene 2 – System Healer Breakdown
SANDY snaps.
“We were trying to warn the world. Now we’re optimizing for it.”
KAI, conflicted, tries to mediate:
“I thought I was helping you survive in their system.”
Scene 3 – Unexpected Allies
A teenage coder named EMBER,
a refugee healer named NEEMA,
and a burned-out educator arrive quietly.
They don’t want branding.
They want to playtest the game in its raw form
— to see if healing can still win.
Scene 1 – First Playtest
The café becomes a game table.
Cards are laid down.
Players act out decisions:
Someone slides toward Addicted.
Others try to intervene with Empathy, Boundaries, Truth.
The audience watches — or participates.
Scene 2 – The Game Spreads
KAI projects a global dashboard.
The game is going viral.
But something’s wrong.
“Some are using it to train corporate teams... others to manipulate elections.”
A military advisor appears — the game has been co-opted for strategy war rooms.
Scene 3 – The Final Choice
Back in the café, the group stares at a glowing screen:
Two buttons: HEAL or HARM
No one touches either.
The play ends in stillness. The choice is ours.
Every day, we’re making moves—shaping systems, influencing lives,
and reinforcing values. But most of us aren’t aware we’re in a game.
And if we are, we didn’t design the rules.
The world we inhabit is being shaped by invisible algorithms,
unchecked incentives, and inherited defaults. The results?
Polarization, extraction, burnout, and collapse.
That’s why Divergence: The Game is more than a play.
It’s a prototype for conscious evolution.
It’s Time to Choose
We’re standing at a junction where harm has become automated—but healing requires intentional design. We can’t drift toward a better world. We have to build the pathways, the platforms, and the playbooks for it.
We need to choose — not just what we play, but how we play.
Divergence invites us to reimagine the game itself.
A system healer and his AI companion are working to co-create
a game that teaches us how to heal faster than we collapse.
But they can’t do it alone.
Call to Creators: Let’s Game for Good
Are you a game designer, worldbuilder, writer, coder, illustrator,
or systems thinker who wants to help develop the real version of Divergence: The Game?
Are you part of the Games for Good movement?
Do you believe games can change not just minds, but culture?
Then we invite you to join us.
Let’s create a roleplay experience, a board game,
and eventually a full digital game where players:
The divergence has already begun.
But the game worth playing is still being written.
